F.A.Q.
Who decides which treatment plan the patient will follow?
Upon admission you will be assessed by the doctors, the head nurse and the head of each department of the rehabilitation team who will work with you throughout your stay. The team will then design a recovery plan based on your needs, the goals of the team, as well as, the goals you and your family want to achieve. The recovery team will meet with the physiatrist at regular intervals, and at the weekly reassessment, your progress will be discussed and new goals will be set.
How long will it take?
The first stage of physical rehabilitation is the Recovery Stage. This is the most important stage of the healing process and, depending on the severity of your injuries, it can be the longest. The goal of this first stage is simple: to recover and allow your body to begin the healing process. The length of time required for recovery and rehabilitation depends on the severity of the disease and the patient’s clinical condition.
What do I bring with me?

Anti-clotting socks up to thigh height (required)

Swimsuit, pool cap, flip flops, bathrobe
Personal hygiene items (nail clipper, hair brush, shampoo, shower gel, toothbrush, toothpaste, sponge, basin, green soap, body moisturizer)
Nightwear, underwear

What's on the menu?
The meal plan is determined in collaboration with the attending physicians and the dietician according to the nutritional needs of each patient and their clinical condition, utilizing the beneficial advantages of the Mediterranean diet. Meals are prepared daily by our chef and consist of three main meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and two snacks. We follow a Mediterranean diet with ingredients from local producers and butchers ordered weekly to prepare the meals. Although meals are traditional home-cooked meals, special care is taken to maintain a low-sodium diet along with the dietitian’s specific instructions for each patient.

Although the rooms are equipped with wifi, a large flat screen TV, as well as chairs and a table for reading/writing, you are encouraged to socialize in the cafe or participate in group activities organized by our social worker. Assisted visits to our outdoor garden and paths, square and church are also encouraged. In general, it is important for you to socialize and become an active member of this closed community, an important therapeutic step in your recovery. It is also important to be as physically active as your condition allows.
Why do I need rehabilitation?
After an injury, certain types of surgery, or a long stay in the ICU, as well as limitations caused by aging or other conditions, rehab may be needed to help restore your functions. Without an effective treatment plan, your recovery can take much longer, putting you at risk of not achieving optimal function.
What are the benefits of rehabilitation?
The goal of rehabilitation is to regain strength, mobility and function. It helps you accomplish your daily activities (buttoning a shirt, going to the bathroom, cooking, etc.) with less/no discomfort and pain. To improve communication and social skills and build confidence for autonomous daily living. Basically, improving patients’ physical abilities and maximizing functionality with ADL (self-care) training.
